Nate Smith has always been into aliens since he saw a UFO from his backyard when he was a kid. He saw lights of different colors moving erratically from side to side, high up in the sky. Then it slowly flew away.  Aliens appear frequently in Nathaniel’s more representational artworks, alongside planets, garden gnomes, kittens, and pumpkins and gorillas, which Nate finds to be cute. All things that could also be spotted from one’s backyard. He’s also really excited about old universal monster movies, like Frankenstein, the Mummy, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Nate has a strong sense of color, and he intuitively layers marks in colored pencil, crayon, and pastel that bring a sense of abstract expressionism to his occult and mysterious interests.
