Endale Abraham
bio
Endale Abraham was born in Dallas, TX, and he moved to Oregon when he was young. His off-kilter, often surreal drawings are distinguished by their soft touch, attention to detail, and sinuous line work. Endale’s human and animal hybrid subjects can be found sunbathing, practicing yoga, playing tennis, and noodling musical tunes on big brass instruments. In his own words, Endale often draws pictures of “animal friends enjoying their time off.” He has a talent for capturing wonky and humorous likenesses, which he often endows with farcical names. Wendall, Endale’s alter ego, makes regular appearances in his work, alongside humans and animals getting along. Boldly taking on new subject matter with focused goofiness and versatility, Endale captures charming details and striking contours with his signature linework and style.
